The Use of Contrast during MRI

MRI Contrast

Certain types of MRI scans require the use of a contrast agent (dye) or your physician may determine that it is necessary to use contrast. The dye is administered intravenously (through an IV). Please inform your physician and the MRI staff if you have ever had an adverse reaction to any contrast media.

Physician

Patients are encouraged to speak with their physician regarding any health questions and/or questions regarding the use of MRI as a diagnostic tool.
